Tribune Broadcasting today announced the appointment of Toni Falvo as SVP/Research. Falvo will oversee all research functions for Tribune Company’s broadcast stations. She will begin her new duties, based in Chicago, on December 9 and report to Larry Wert, Tribune’s President of Broadcast Media.
Falvo comes to Tribune from WMAQ-TV, the NBC O&O in Chicago, where she has been Vice President of Research, Programming and Press. She joined WMAQ-TV in 1998 as Research Director and immediately became a key participant in developing station strategy. She began her broadcast television career at WLS-TV, the ABC O&O station Chicago, and held positions in finance and research, eventually becoming Research Director. Falvo is active in the television research community, participating in a variety of Media Research and Nielsen Committees.
“As Tribune’s growing portfolio of assets provides us with a variety of new opportunities to better analyze and understand the audiences watching our stations, I am confident Toni has the talent, experience and drive required to make a significant impact on our goals,” said Wert.
