WGN America’s How I Met Your Mother Themed Facebook Page Celebrates 2 Million+ Fans
WGN America, Tribune Broadcasting’s nationally distributed cable, satellite and telco network, today announced its How I Met Your Mother themed Facebook page (“YourMother”) has surpassed 2 million fans (that’s more fans than the network pages of AMC, TBS, FX and Bravo…COMBINED) and features a more engaged audience (per Facebook’s “People Talking About This” metric) than shows like Mad Men, Breaking Bad and Two And A Half Men in first run. WGN America’s How I Met Your Mother themed Twitter entity “@MeetAtMaclarens” has nearly 106K followers, surpassing the network followers for TNT, AMC, FX and TBS.
WGN America’s How I Met Your Mother themed social media pages have become one of the strongest Social TV communities in cable today based on WGN America’s focus on “SuperFans.” WGN America’s themed pages have seen success through WGN America’s focus on “SuperFans” and the creation of fan-based communities. By inviting WGN America’s loyal viewers to participate in social media, which is used as part of a contextually relevant on-air strategy, fans become “part of the show” which drives conversation, creates sharable content and engages fans of WGN America’s programming on a deeper, more inclusive level.
“Hitting the 2 Million fan mark is a notable accomplishment; however we are just as thankful for the level of engagement in which our SuperFans participate on a daily basis. We will continue to grow through our program driven content strategy, and as importantly, continue to drive increased real time and viral engagement from our active social SuperFan base,” said Josh Richman, Vice President of Marketing for WGN America.
HIMYM currently airs on WGN America Tuesday through Friday (9pm E /6pm W) Saturday (11:30pm E /8:30pm W) and Sunday (7pm E /4pm W.)
