Tribune Interactive, a subsidiary of Tribune Company (NYSE:TRB) today announced that Brigid Kenney has been named senior vice president/network operations, and Dick Malone has been named senior vice president/local market operations. Both will assume their new positions with TI immediately.
“These appointments enable Tribune Interactive to strengthen the organization as we move to take advantage of significant online growth opportunities,” said Tim Landon, Tribune Interactive president. “Brigid and Dick bring enormous experience to these positions and are ideal choices to help lead TI’s team going forward.”
As SVP/network operations, Kenney will oversee TI’s current network businesses which include CareerBuilder.com, Apartments.com, and Cars.com. She will also be responsible for the early stage start-up operations of new ad and content networks. Kenney was promoted to senior vice president/general manager at TI in 2005; she was appointed general manager in 2004. Prior to that, she held positions of increasing responsibility with Tribune Interactive.
As SVP/local market operations, Malone will be responsible for TI’s current local business operations. He has served as senior vice president/general manager of Chicago Tribune Company since 2003, and assumed additional operational responsibilities at Tribune Publishing in 2006. Malone joined Tribune Company in 1979 and has a long history of successfully managing large operations. During the last year, he has been increasingly involved with interactive planning.
