WGNO-TV’s “God Bless Louisiana” Wins Second 2012 Gold Addy Award
WGNO’s God Bless Louisiana Campaign won a Gold Addy at the regional District 7 Addy Awards in Nashville on April 13, 2012, thus earning its second Gold Addy this year.
Back in February 2012, WGNO-TV’S “God Bless Louisiana” campaign took home a Gold Addy Award as well as a “Special Judges Award” at the 2012 New Orleans Addy Awards. The ADDY® Awards represent the true spirit of creative excellence by recognizing all forms of advertising from media of all types, creative by all sizes and entrants of all levels from anywhere in the world. The same campaign was also honored with a 2011 Promax Gold Award by PromaxBDA, the international association for entertainment marketing professionals.
“The conversation the campaign has generated online and on the streets has been incredible,” commented VP/General Manager of WGNO-TV/NOLA 38 John Cruse, “I am pleased that we can bring a positive message about Louisiana to our viewers that reinforces why this place is so special.
“’Hardship,’ ‘Hope,’ ‘Faith’ and ‘Family’ are those heartfelt chapters that embody the people, the culture and life that is uniquely Louisiana. As storytellers, we wanted our audiences to not only see but truly feel that emotion, to know that something like an oil spill or a hurricane won’t hold Louisianans back,” commented Jeff Funk, creative service director for WGNO-TV and NOLA 38. “We, as a team, couldn’t be more humbled to be a part of it personally and professionally.”
