WGN Radio morning host Jonathon Brandmeier today announced the three finalists in the station’s first-ever Cubs song contest. For the past month, the station solicited entries for the next great Cubs song and received over 300 entries from all over the country, and even Ireland. The songs are now posted at www.wgnradio.com for listeners to vote on which song will become the official WGN Radio Cubs Song of the 2012 season and played during the introduction to every Cubs broadcast on WGN Radio.

The finalists are:

• “Cubs Win” by 17 Candle
• “Let’s Go Cubbies” by The Fold
• “Rockin’ Right at Wrigley” by Derrick Procell

Voting is now open at www.wgnradio.com through 8:30 a.m. CT on Friday, March 16. Voting is limited to one vote per computer IP address per day during the voting period. The winner will be announced after the 8:30 a.m. news live on the Jonathon Brandmeier show on Friday, March 16. The winner will also have the opportunity to perform their song live during Brandmeier’s Opening Day broadcast on April 5 from the Captain Morgan Club at Wrigley Field.
