19th Jan, 2012 | Posted in Broadcasting
With Illinois’ unemployment rate hovering around 10% and higher than the national average, WGN News at Five is launching a new initiative to help people get back to work with “WGN: Jobs for You.” WGN-TV is partnering with CareerBuilder.com to bring viewers advice, helpful hints, and job searching strategies every week.
Starting in February, viewers can tune in for:
- The Job of the Day: WGN News at Five will be the first to feature a brand new job posting every day from CareerBuilder.com
- Expert Advice: Every Monday, Mark Suppelsa and Lourdes Duarte sit down with WGN experts to get the best advice on the topics viewers need to know about including who’s hiring, how to use social media to their advantage and pitfalls to avoid once they get a job.
- And on February 20, WGN Jobs for You becomes interactive with a LIVE webchat. Viewers can talk online with several CareerBuilder experts, have their own personal job search questions answered, and get critiques on their resumes submitted through wgntv.com/jobs. Viewers can also join the conversation on Twitter, #wgnjobsforyou
- Check out wgntv.com/jobs this February and catch the launch of WGN News at Five’s Jobs for You features.
