WGN-TV will air special news report “Chicago Care a Continent Away” Thursday, November 24 from 9:30-10pm CT in HD on Chicago’s Very Own WGN-TV and nationally on WGN America.  An encore can be seen at 11:30pm CT on cable news channel CLTV in Chicago, Rockford, IL and South Bend, IN.

“Chicago Care a Continent Away” follows WGN News reporter Dina Bair as she reports from a remote, primitive village in Africa.  The most technologically advanced healthcare is being delivered thanks to the generosity and tenacity of Chicago Philanthropist Ann Lurie. This documentary explores how the implementation of Ann Lurie’s AID Village Clinics has filled a great void in rural Africa.  Access to health education, prevention and treatment services was nonexistent, prior to this project.  By enlisting Chicago doctors to help in the cause, bringing several Kenyans to Chicago to study medicine and building a full service hospital, Ann Lurie is saving lives and changing a culture.
