WGN-TV to Air “Stories of Hope: Facing Breast Cancer,” A Half-Hour Special to Support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month
In support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, WGN-TV Chicago and WGN America will air “Stories of Hope: Facing Breast Cancer,” a half-hour locally produced program on Thursday, October 13 at 9:30pm CT. Encores can be seen on CLTV on Thursday, October 13 at 11:30pm CT, Friday, October 14 at 7pm CT and Saturday, October 15 at 2pm CT.
“Stories of Hope: Facing Breast Cancer” will include a discussion with doctors and healthcare professionals about advancements in diagnosis and treatments, and regaining one’s life after a diagnosis. The special is sponsored by Adventist Midwest Health.
WGN News medical reporter Dina Bair and WGN entertainment reporter Dean Richards will host the special that will feature inspiring survivor stories. “Stories of Hope: Facing Breast Cancer” and the WGN Radio version Richards hosts annually have won “Best Local Public Affairs Program” Silver Dome Awards from the Illinois Broadcasters Association.
National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM) is dedicated to increasing awareness of breast cancer issues, especially the importance of early detection of breast cancer through screening mammography, clinical breast examination and, for women 20 years of age and older, breast self-examination.
