Frank Holland Joins WGN News as WGN Morning News Anchor
Frank Holland is joining WGN News as a reporter and WGN Morning News anchor alongside Erin McElroy from 4-5:30am. Holland will be on air effective September 12, 2011, according to Greg Caputo, WGN-TV news director.
“We look forward to adding Frank to our AM team of personalities and we know our viewers will appreciate Frank’s energy and passion for good story-telling,” commented Caputo.
Prior to WGN-TV, Holland spent the past two years as a reporter and fill-in anchor for WDIV-NBC in Detroit. He held general assignment reporter positions at New 12 Westchester in Yonkers, New York and at WMGM-NBC in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He also worked as a sports anchor and news reporter for TV2-FOX in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Holland originally started in the field as a reporter in Fairbanks, Alaska working at both KTVK-NBC and KUAC-PBS.
Holland graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania with a degree in Political Science.
