Jeffrey Funk has been named WGNO/NOLA 38 Creative Services Director effective immediately.
“Jeff is an Emmy, Promax and Addy Award-Winning Media Professional and social media maven,” commented Carrie King, regional VP/Tribune Creative Group, Central US. “He has a wide range of expertise, including brand strategy and multi-platform content creation, and will be a dynamite addition to our regional creative team.”
Jeff Funk has over a decade of creative, marketing and TV promotions experience proven in delivering award winning brand activations for successful media brands. Prior to Tribune, Funk spent 3 ½ years with the Turner Entertainment Network in Atlanta and was part of the original creative team that launched home based network WPCH/Peachtree TV, a division of Turner Broadcasting System Inc. He also served as the Assistant Creative Director at WDSU Newschannel 6 in New Orleans for three years post Katrina. Before that, he was a valuable member of CNN Newsource Sales, the CNN News Group’s newsgathering and affiliate distribution arm also based in Atlanta.
“I couldn’t be more excited about this opportunity as well as the direction of our station with 21st century thinking and innovation clearly in our sights. But at the heart of everything we do is still a culture and a passionate community that make New Orleans the one of a kind gem it truly is. There’s nothing like it anywhere and I’m so proud to call New Orleans home,” commented Funk.
Funk received his BS in Advertising from the University of Florida.
