WGN News to Produce Daily Recap of Chicago Political Events with “Politics Tonight”
Beginning Monday, January 10 and running through the Mayoral Election, CLTV will offer daily coverage of local political developments, with a particular focus on the heated campaign for Mayor Daley’s successor. CLTV’s “Politics Tonight” airing daily from 6-6:30pm and hosted by WGN-TV political analyst Paul Lisnek, will keep Chicagoans informed about the important political events of the day. Paul Lisnek is WGN-TV’s Political Analyst, a position he has held since 2008. He appears on WGN-TV and CLTV news programs discussing politics on a national, state and local level. Paul also hosts political programs on The Comcast Network, The HLN Network, and WVON radio. The author of 13 books and numerous articles, Lisnek has been a student of politics for over 30 years and has interviewed many political figures including President Obama, President Carter, Senators Dick Durbin, Roland Burris, the late Paul Simon, Governor Quinn, former Gov Blagojevich, and most Illinois state senators and representatives. Paul’s television work has been recognized with Emmy, Beacon and Cablefax awards for best host and for best programs.
Paul received his BA, MA, Ph.D. and JD degrees from the University of Illinois and has taught at the U of I, DePaul University Dept of English and Communication, Loyola Chicago School of Law (where he was an assistant dean for several years) and the Department of Communication and Pepperdine School of Law’s Institute for Dispute Resolution.
