FOX 17 Names Kerri Cavanaugh as News Director
FOX 17 is proud to announce that Kerri Cavanaugh has been named as News Director effective Wednesday, September 8th.
“Kerri has a strong, award winning journalistic background and a track record of improving news coverage,” said General Manager, Patty Kolb. “I am excited she is joining the FOX 17 news team.”
Previously, Cavanaugh was the News Director at WSFL in South Florida. Prior to WSFL, she spent 11 years at WFTS in Tampa where she played an integral role in the station’s growth. As Senior Executive Producer, she led the charge in reshaping the morning newscasts at WFTS and improved show ratings. In 2008, she won the Edward R. Murrow Award for Breaking News.
Cavanaugh is a graduate of the University of Alabama. She is excited to move to Michigan and is looking forward to getting to know the West Michigan community.
Cavanaugh is replacing Tim Dye who left FOX 17 in July to join WXYZ in Detroit.
