FOX 17 News at Ten Names Hailey Frances as New Co-Anchor
FOX 17 has hired Hailey Frances as the co-anchor of FOX 17 NEWS AT TEN as well as a franchise reporter for FOX 17 NEWS AT SIX effective Monday, June 14th.
For the past year, Hailey worked at KIAH-TV in Houston as a general assignment reporter, an entertainment/feature reporter and a fill-in anchor. Prior to her employment in Texas, she served as a reporter and morning news anchor at WCAV in Charlottesville, Virginia.
“We’re very pleased to have Hailey join the FOX 17 News staff”, said News Director, Tim Dye. “She brings a mix of anchoring and reporting experience to our station.”
Hailey is replacing Michele DeSelms, who anchored FOX 17 NEWS AT TEN since it debuted on January 11, 1999. In March, Michele announced she would be stepping down as co-anchor to spend more time with her family. She will continue in her role as co-anchor of FOX 17 NEWS AT SIX, along with Christian Frank.
Hailey grew up in Phoenix, Arizona where she attended Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
