The April Arbitron radio ratings released Wednesday show marked improvements for WGN-AM 720’s morning and afternoon drive timeslots compared to both last month and one year ago.
Morning drive host Greg Jarrett ranked first with a 10.0 share among overall listeners 12+ Mon-Fri 5-9am, up from an 8.3 share in March 2010 and an 8.0 share in April 2009. In the 35-64 demo, Jarrett ranked second with a 7.3 share in April 2010, up from 5.1 in March 2010 and 6.3 in April 2009.
Garry Meier, who moved into afternoon drive on April 9th, has already shown growth in his new timeslot without the influence of Cubs baseball. On days when the Cubs games weren’t broadcast 3-6pm, Garry ranked second 12+ with a 5.0 share, up from a sixth-ranked 4.1 in March 2010.
Among overall listeners 12+ Mon-Sun 6a-12a, WGN is ranked first with a 6.5 share in April 2010.
