WGN Radio News Wins Associated Press Award

WGN Radio has been honored in the 2010 Illinois Associated Press Broadcasters Association Journalism Excellence contest.
The WGN Radio news staff won first place in Best Spot News for its coverage of the Dec. 10 Gold Coast high-rise fire. Individuals contributing to the coverage included Don Norton, Christopher Michael, Jeremy Gorner, Margaret Larkin, Steve King, Johnnie Putman, Ted Novak, Dan Sugrue, and Andrea Darlas.
Don Norton also took first-place honors for Best Light Feature, for a series of reports, “Last Ride at Kiddieland.”
The awards will be presented Saturday, April 17, at the Illinois News Broadcasters Association convention in Oak Brook.
