DENVER, March 2, 2007 — KWGN-TV/CW-2 finished the February sweeps Wednesday with some exciting highlights.  The morning newscasts as well as the evening newscast experienced tremendous growth year-over-year.

News2 at 5:30am grew a 100% in household ratings year- to- year.  News2 at 6:00am grew 15% in household ratings year-to-year.  The number one local newscast in the market News2 at 7:00am grew 25% year-to-year.  News2 at 8:00am also the number one local news in the time period grew 50% from last February.  News2 at 9:00pm Monday through Friday grew 23% from last February.

Growth was not limited to just KWGN’s newscasts.  Daytime and early fringe programming also experienced terrific growth year-to-year.

“Martha” weekdays at 10:00am grew the time period 86% in household ratings from last February.  “What I Like About You” weekdays at 3:00& 3:30pm grew the time period 100% from last year.  The ever-popular “Reba” weekdays at 4:00 and 4:30pm grew the time period 73% in household rating since last year.  All three of the above programs experienced more growth than any competing program.  “My Wife and Kids” weekdays at 5:00pm grew 31% from February- to -February.

CW2 was only one of three local stations to experience growth sign on to sign off, 8% from February ’06 to February ’07.
