myphl17 to Air World Music Awards
PHILADELPHIA, MARCH 5, 2007 — International superstars and the world’s best selling recording artists will light up the stage as myphl17 broadcasts the World Music Awards on Saturday, March 10th at 8pm. The two-hour musical event will be hosted by Lindsay Lohan and will honor top-selling artists based on record sales provided by record companies and the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI).
This stellar event will include a special performance by Michael Jackson who will make his first public appearance onstage after a nine-year absence. The World Music Awards will pay tribute to the “King of Pop” by honoring him with a Diamond Award to recognize his achievement in selling over 100 million albums.
Beyonce, Nelly Furtado, Enya, Andrea Bocelli, Chris Brown, Rhianna and many more will perform. Paris Hilton, Elle Macpherson, Natalie Imbruglia, Eva Herzigova and more will make appearances.
The World Music Awards was established in 1989 and is the most televised music awards show in the world reaching an estimated one billion viewers in over 160 countries. It is also the only European awards show to air on primetime network television in America.
