HOUSTON, March 23, 2007 — It was announced today that CW39 News at 9 received three awards at the 2006-2007 Texas Associated Press Broadcasters(TAPB) television awards.

Here is a complete list of the awards won by CW39 News at 9:

1st Place- “Best Photojournalism” category won by videographer Scott Stevens
2nd Place- “Best Spot Story/Individual” Wrong Way Crash won by anchor/reporter
Steve Simon and videographer/editor Erik Smith
Honorable Mention- “Best Weathercast” won by meteorologist Casanova Nurse

The Texas Associated Press Broadcasters is a not-for-profit organization made up of various Texas radio and television stations that subscribe to the Associated Press wire service. The TAPB board flew 17 journalists, all radio and TV professionals, to Dallas the weekend of March 3-4 to judge contest tapes.
