FOX 17 WXMI Names Tara Miller as New Sports Reporter
GRAND RAPIDS, August 8, 2008 –FOX 17 WXMI has hired Tara Miller as a Sports reporter/anchor for FOX 17 News at Ten effective August 12, 2008.
Prior to coming to FOX 17, Tara was the weekend sports anchor at WJBF News Channel 6 in Augusta, Georgia where she worked for nearly 4 years. She also worked at the ESPN headquarters in Bristol, Conn. as a studio production intern for the summer of 2004.
“We’re extremely pleased to have Tara Join our staff”, said News Director Tim Dye. “During her four years in Augusta, she covered high school, collegiate and national sporting events including The Masters golf tournament. Her experience combined with her knowledge of the Michigan sports scene will be a tremendous addition to our staff.”
Tara was born and raised in Muskegon, MI and grew up a fan of the Red Wings, Tigers, Pistons and Lions. She also received her Journalism degree from Michigan State University where she served as a sports reporter for the student newspaper, The State News.
