CHICAGO, August 12, 2008 –Meteorologist Duffy Atkins joins the WGN-TV Weathercenter to serve as CLTV’s primary weeknight weather anchor, effective immediately.

Prior to joining the WGN Weathercenter team, Atkins spent the past year as chief meteorologist at KREN-TV, the CW affiliate in Reno, NV. From 2006 – 2007, she worked as a meteorologist for KEYT-TV, the ABC affiliate in Santa Barbara, CA. Atkins got her start at KHQA-TV, the CBS affiliate in Quincy, IL where she spent four years. While at KHQA, Atkins produced and anchored a 90-minute weather show for the morning newscast and a 30-minute weather show for the noon newscast.

Atkins, a Chicagoland native, received her BS in communication from Western Michigan University and her MS in geoscience from Mississippi State University, where she graduated cum laude. She is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Society.
