CHICAGO, September 5, 2008 –Excluding sports, last night’s encore airing of the premiere of “90210” was the #1 entertainment program in the time period with a 4.6 HH rtg. The program also ranked #1 among teens 12-17 (5.3 rating) and girls 12-17 (6.6 rating).

The original premiere of ‘90210’ aired on Tuesday, September 2 from midnight to 2am, due to a previously scheduled Cubs game which went into extra innings and then was followed by WGN News at Nine. Pulling a 2.4 HH rtg, the ‘watch to win’ contest running inside the show pulled an unprecedented number of text entries –over 14,550! When the entry period closed, a total of 20,336 entries had been submitted, with over 17,000 of those texts – a station record. Two winners won $9,021 each! One of the winners, a single mother of two, received the news via phone on her birthday.
