CHICAGO, September 24, 2008 –Errol Gerber has been named WGN-TV director of sales effective immediately, according to Marty Wilke, WGN-TV VP/general manager. “Errol is a guy who gets the job done,” commented Wilke. “His sales management experience, reputation in the Chicago community and proven track record make him the ideal candidate to lead our sales efforts on-air, on-line and in new emerging mediums.”

Gerber joined WGN-TV in December 2002 as an account executive. He was promoted to local sales manager nine months later. Prior to his Tribune experience, he worked at WPWR-TV for twelve years, where he held positions as account executive, local sales manager and general sales manager. He also spent two years as an account executive for Cable Media, Inc., in Chicago.

A Chicagoland native, Gerber graduated from University of Wisconsin, Madison with a B.A. in journalism, with an emphasis in advertising.
