WGN News at Nine to Cover Presidential Race to Its Conclusion
CHICAGO, October 30, 2008 –WGN News will offer extensive coverage of the 2008 historical presidential election as well as all of Chicago’s local races on Tuesday, November 4 on WGN Morning News, WGN Midday News, WGN Evening News and WGN News at Nine. WGN News at Nine will expand its coverage until the presidential race is decided. Special election cut-in reports will also update viewers throughout the CW primetime programming.
WGN-TV reporters Jackie Bange, Lourdes Duarte and Antwan Lewis will be live at Grant Park for Barack Obama’s election party. WGN reporter Tom Negovan will also be stationed at Chicago’s local McCain headquarters along with coverage of McCain headquarters in Arizona.
National Political Commentator Jim Warren will be WGN-TV’s on-set political analyst. Warren will draw upon his many years as the Chicago Tribune’s former Washington Bureau Chief to offer insight on the races and results. Other on-set politicos include former State Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka and Alderman Toni Preckwinkle.
On November 5, WGN Morning News will start early at 4:30am with extensive post election coverage. WGN Morning News political duo Marj Halperin and Chris Robling will be on-set discussing the races. Chicago Tribune reporter Rick Pearson will also provide post election analysis.
