CHICAGO, December 22, 2008 –Thursday night’s impending snowstorm translated into record viewers for WGN Morning News on Friday, December 19 for details on the morning commute.

At 4:30am, WGN added a special weather newscast and topped the competition, beating WLS’ News Special, WMAQ’s 4:30a news and WBBM’s 4a-5a newscast among HH’s and key adult demos.

WGN Morning News achieved the highest HH ratings in its 5am time period history, beating all stations in HH ratings and in key adult demos. At 6am, WGN Morning News was #1 in key adult demos and delivered its highest HH rating since January 2002. WGN Morning News at 7am was #1 in key adult demos and delivered its highest HH rating since September 2000.
