WGN-TV to Offer Extensive Coverage of Obama Inauguration on January 20
CHICAGO, January 13, 2009 –WGN-TV will provide extensive coverage of the 56th Presidential Inauguration by sending an impressive delegation of WGN Newson-air anchors and reporters to Washington D.C. including Mark Suppelsa, Micah Materre, Robert Jordan, Julie Unruh, and Marcella Raymond. WGN Washington bureau reporters Sabrina Fang, Autria Godfrey and Grant Rampy will also be in the nation’s capital to cover the story.
WGN News coverage will begin on Sunday night, January 18, and will continue through Inauguration day Tuesday, January 20 on WGN Morning News, WGN Midday News, WGN Evening News and WGN News at Nine.
On January 20, WGN News will provide more than 10 hours of continuous coverage starting with WGN Morning News at 5am and continuing uninterrupted through the afternoon until the conclusion of the Inaugural parade. WGN News reports will include coverage of Chicago groups travelling to D.C. to witness the historic event. WGN News will also be live around the Chicago area with several reports.
WGN-TV’s coverage of the Obama Inauguration will be available at the Chicago Tribune viewing party located at Pioneer Court on Michigan Avenue, where a WGN-TV reporter will be covering the crowd. WGN-TV news coverage will also be simulcast on CLTV on January 20 from 9 – 11:30 am.
