Sandy Pudar Named Executive Producer of WGN Morning News
CHICAGO, February 24, 2009 –Sandy Pudar has been promoted to executive producer of WGN Morning News effective immediately, according to Greg Caputo, WGN-TV news director. “Sandy has been part of the WGN Morning News team, building the broadcast into a winning vehicle that combines hard, breaking news with the feature elements for which the Morning News is so well known,” commented Caputo. “Her news judgment is first rate, and she knows how to make sure that viewers have a good time along the way.”
Pudar succeeds Jennifer Lyons, who was recently promoted to WGN-TV assistant news director.
During her 10-year tenure at WGN-TV, Pudar has worked her way through the ranks as a writer and producer, working on both the morning and 9pm newscasts. Under her leadership the past several years, the 7AM portion of the News has become the lynchpin of WGN Morning News.
Pudar received her B.S. in Journalism from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
